Kenneth William Heller, 66, passed away July 19, 2023, at Indianapolis, after a recent heart transplant. He was born March 30, 1957, in Cincinnati, to Donald R. and Helen (Whipkey) Heller. He was baptized at Mahoning Valley Christian Camp on June 23, 1969 and was a member of the Glenwood Christian Church. Ken graduated from Rushville Consolidated High School in 1975.

Ken was the third child in a family of seven children. He is survived by his father and siblings, Cheryl (William) Oakes of Glenwood, Donald Jr. (Wilma) Heller of Speedway, Eileen Pennington of Rushville, Tim (Bess) Heller of Rushville, Michael (Trudy) Heller of Carthage, and Beverly (Jerry) Yager of Clarksburg, partner, Missy Kiger and daughter Jessica Stadler, as well as special friend, Becky Roarks. He also has many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother.

He has resided in Crawfordville, for many years and managed Just-Rite Restaurant and Bank Cigar Shop. He was employed at Crawford Industries from 1997 until 2017. He was founder and CEO of Heller’s Tax Service, where he had a passion for helping people. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles since 2004. He was an avid sports fan and attended all the county games with his good buddy Hess.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 26th at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash, Crawfordsville. An Eagles service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation. Visitation Friday, July 28th will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rushville Church of Christ, 627 West 11th Street, Rushville with funeral services starting at 1 p.m., with Pastor Jim Coyle presiding. Burial will be held East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Rush County Assistance Food Pantry or Rushville Church of Christ.
