Donald L. Kelly passed away on Monday November 6, 2023, at Reid Healthcare in Richmond at the age of 75.  Born in Richmond on May 21, 1948, he is the son of the late Harry D. and Martha C. LaMar Kelly.

Donald was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Sandra Price, on January 27, 1967, in Richmond.  They enjoyed 46 years of marriage prior to her death in 2013.

He retired after working 46 years for Belden.  Donald did not like to sit idly around. He was always on the go.  He enjoyed traveling, going to flea markets looking for antiques, studying history, doing research on his family history, and had a love for animals.  His favorite times were spent with his family.  He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and a member of the Belden 25 years club.

He is survived by his children, Brian (Melinda) Kelly and Tabitha (Doug) Byrd; grandchildren, Dustin Grimes, Christopher Kelly, Brandon Kelly, Mathew Lynch, Ryan (Cynthia) Byrd, Kelly (Sean) Ingram and David Byrd, two great grandchildren, Miriam and Eliza Ingram; a sister, Loretta Packchanian; a sister-in-law, Loretta Price; as well as several nieces, a nephew, and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N Main Street, on Friday November 10, 2023, at 1:00 pm.  Friends and family may gather from 11:00 am until the hour of the service.  Donald will be laid to rest next to his wife at Elkhorn Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HELP the Animals in Richmond or your local animal shelter.
