Richard ‘Big R’ Beesley

Richard, “Big R” Beesley, of Brookville was born on June 25, 1954, in Batesville, a son to Glen and Ruth Fledderman Beesley.  After graduating from Brookville High School, he married Deborah Ann Pflum on September 15, 1973.  Rick worked as a union carpenter for over 30 years, retiring from OK Interiors.  He enjoyed the grandchildren, cooking, and grilling, working in his yard, woodworking and piddling around in his beloved garage.  His family appreciated that he always looked out for them – right down to telling them when they needed new tires!  Rick loved playing cards with many friends and catching up with them.  On Monday, November 13, 2023, at the age of 69, he passed away at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.

Those surviving who will cherish Rick's memory include his loving wife of over 50 years, Deborah Beesley; two daughters, Patricia Beesley-Schieler and Heather (James) Halcomb; one son, Wesley Beesley; six grandchildren, Trey and Clayton Halcomb, Jaylin, Terrell and Tatum Beesley and Mason Lyons, and two great-grandsons, Jax and Calvin Riley.  Also surviving are his siblings, John (Becky) Beesley, Carol (Randy) Kirkpatrick, Nancy (Raymond) Hansel, Lester (Tonya) Beesley and Mike Beesley.  He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Friends visited with the family Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville.  Father Vincent Lampert officiated the funeral service at 12 noon.  Cremation followed.
