Deborah Sue Crawford

Deborah Sue Crawford, of Brookville, was born on May 26, 1944, in Richmond, a daughter to Joseph and Ruby Freeman Montoney.  She was in the last class of Webster High School in Webster, graduating in 1962.  Debbie married Jerry Crawford on October 15, 1977, and he survives.  She worked at GTE as a technician for 30 years and then for McCullough Hyde as a phone operator for 20 years.  She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and was a proud breast cancer survivor.  Debbie loved her grandkids and the time she spent with them.  She also enjoyed watching NASCAR and IU basketball.   On Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the age of 79, she passed away at her residence.  

Those surviving who will cherish Debbie's memory include her husband of almost 46 years, Jerry Crawford; one son, Terry Joe Dare (Debbie Estep) of Liberty; two grandchildren, Joseph and Emily Dare; three great-grandchildren, Karsyn Ball, Jamison Dare, and Holden Dare; one sister, Kathy Montoney Huffine; nephew, Jason Huffine, and many other nieces, nephews and family.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Patrick Huffine.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville from 9 until 11 a.m.  Father Vincent Lampert will officiate Mass at St. Michael Church at 11:30 a.m. and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
