Jeffery L. Jones, age 66, of Brookville, died Sunday morning October 15, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by family following a battle with cancer.

Born April 17, 1957 in Batesville.  He was one of two children born to the late Dane E.F. and Ruth (Lucas) Jones.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  On August 14, 1982, he was united in marriage to the former Susan Bischoff, and she survives.

Jeff was retired, having farmed in Franklin County for all of his life, as well as working at the former Ford/Visteon in Connersville for 24 years.  He has also worked driving a dump truck for several years which he enjoyed. He was a member of the Bath Conservation Club.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending all their events. They were his pride and joy. He also enjoyed working on his family farm, and tinkering with his tractors and equipment.  

In addition to Susan, his loving wife of over 41 years, survivors include two children, Christie (Blake) Bauman of Brookville and Randal (Samantha Riddle) Jones of Brookville; two grandchildren, Grayson Bauman and Reagan Bauman; a sister, Brenda Tinch of Arcanum, Ohio; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Patty and Daryl Steinmetz, Debbie Spade and Russ Zoller, Larry and Patty Bischoff and Roger Bischoff as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tim Tinch; a niece, Amanda Tinch, as well as his mother and father-in-law, Alfred and Ruth Bischoff.

Family and friends visited Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Pastor Mike Holman of First Baptist Church will officiate the funeral at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
