Mark H. Blades

Mark H. Blades, 82, of Cedar Grove, died Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Vitas Hospice Inpatient Care Unit at Drake Center, following a lengthy illness.
Born September 25, 1941 in Harrison, Ohio, he was the son of the late Mark Jr. and Mary H. (Reuss) Blades. On August 5, 1967 he was united in marriage to Bonita L. Martini, and she preceded him in death on September 10, 2023.
Mark was retired, having been an operator engineer with the IUOE Local 18 for over 50 years, in addition to farming in Franklin County for much of his life.
He was a member of the former Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Cedar Grove, and a current member of All Saints Parish in Dearborn County; a charter member of the Franklin County E.M.S., Stayin Alive Franklin County, as well as the Brookville Lions Club.
Survivors include five children, Mark (Amy) Blades of Cedar Grove, Brad (Samantha) Blades of Brookville, Krista (Tim) Flaugh of Winchester, Nikki Blades of Cedar Grove and Kevin (Emily) Blades of Brookville, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Morgan Blades, Paige (Hunter) Buchanan, Dylan Blades, Nathan Blades, Jacob Flaugh, Josie Flaugh, Logan Blades and Grant Blades; a brother, Jerry Blades of Cedar Grove as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bonnie, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Elizabeth Louise Blades.
Family and friends may visit from 4 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, where the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Rev. Jonathan Meyer will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 20, 2023, 10:00 a.m., at Holy Guardian Angels Oratory, 405 U.S. Highway 52, Cedar Grove. Burial will follow the Mass at Holy Guardian Angel Cemetery in Cedar Grov.
