Lora Ann Lathery, age 53, of Liberty, passed away on Friday October 13, 2023 at her home.  Lora was born on February 21, 1970 in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Carl and Dora Alice Morgan Scalf.  She was united in marriage on September 15, 2007 to Michael G. Lathery.  They enjoyed 15 years together prior to his passing on August 12, 2023.

Lora was a giver, and she took great pride in caring for others. Lora worked as a registered nurse at McCullough-Hyde Hospital in Oxford, Ohio for over 25 years. She had recently retired from bedside nursing and became the school nurse for a local elementary school. She was a member of the Family Worship Center in Everton, where she attended with her husband. Lora loved to craft and she never visited with family members empty-handed. The most important thing to Lora was spending time with her family and making others happy.

Her memory will be cherished by her children Abigail Lathery, Tasha (Alyson) Ritter, and Michael V. Lathery; and her grandchildren, Dorothy Pettet, Sami Zaroui and Amira Zaroui.  She will be thought of often by her sisters, Sharon (Doyle) Stephens, Carol (Michael) Bayersdorfer, and Teresa (William) Sester; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Lora is also survived by her longtime friend Katrina (Joe) Dudley and many other loved ones.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Michael G. Lathery.

Family and friends may gather at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N Main, Liberty, on Thursday October 26, 2023 from 5:00 p.m.m until 8:00p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday October 27, 2023 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
