Marjorie Ellen Oakley went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 91 on September 10, 2023, at Whitewater Commons in Liberty.  She was born in Preble County, Ohio on August 9, 1932, the daughter of Harold Ottis and Naomi Kuhn Smalley.  She lived most of her life in College Corner, Ohio.

Marjorie retired from Kroger after many years of service as a cashier.  She had worked in Richmond and Oxford. She had served as the secretary in her church and was very active in the church.  When she was younger, she and her mother had a small business of making and decorating cakes.  Marjorie found time to relax while working in her flower and vegetable gardens, doing yard work and canning.  She lived a simple life and her most valuable treasure was her family.

Marjorie's memory will be loved and cherished by her sons, Harold (Melissa) Oakley and Jeffrey Oakley; Claudean Oakley, who she loved as a daughter; a sister Arlene Coffey; eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren; as well as her nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Hansford Oakley; a son, Robert “Bobby” Oakley and a sister, Geraldine Walton.

Friends and family gathered at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N Main, Liberty on Wednesday September 13, 2023, with services at 12:00 pm.  Burial followed at Butler County Memorial Park, 4570 Trenton Oxford Road, Hamilton, OH.
