Panthers drop shutout on Pats

KNIGHTSTOWN – Things got ugly early for the Union County football team in a road TEC contest with the Knightstown Panthers Sept. 1. After dropping 21 on the UC defense in the first quarter, KHS scored 14 apiece in each of the next two frames and six more in the fourth to give the Pats an 0-3 mark to start the year.
The Panthers suffocated the Pats' offense, getting to quarterback Topher Fritts in the backfield numerous times for a total team rushing line of negative 41 yards. Fritts did get off three passes for 43 yards. Sophomore Jameson Crawford ran for 285 yards and five touchdowns in the winning effort. KHS totaled 377 on the ground.
