Rita Jo Grider

Rita Jo Grider, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 15, 2023.  She was born on April 23, 1943 in Batesville, to the late Leslie O. and Marguarite (Seyfried) Clevenger.  

Rita was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.  She worked for 37 years in housekeeping at St. Paul Hermitage, Beech Grove. Rita loved playing cards and enjoyed working crosswords and puzzles. She also enjoyed the many travel destinations that she and Stephen visited together.

Rita is survived by her husband, Stephen G. Grider; sister, Jane (Frank- deceased) Jagoditz, of Brookville; several nieces and nephews;great-nieces and nephews;  and brother-in-law, Jim Grider, of The Villages, Fla.

She was preceded in death by sister, Emily Ann Ketudat (Thailand).

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 10:00 am at St Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Rd, Indianapolis, IN. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, Indianapolis, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.  

Rita will be laid to rest in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
