Charles Moore

Charles “Chuck” Moore, of Metamora, was born on July 2, 1929, in Kenton County, Kentucky, a son to Wilford Petty Moore and Jeanette May Cook. After graduating high school, he joined and later retired from the United States Air Force, serving his country for over 20 years. Chuck then acquired his insurance license and started his own agency, which he had for 10 years. He later worked for the postal service. Chuck married Eva Goins on December 28, 1989, and she preceded him in death on June 23, 2011. Chuck was a member of the Harrison, Ohio Masonic Lodge #193 and the Brookville VFW. He loved going out to eat and dressing in all white – he was even known as “Colonel Sanders of Metamora” and was frequently asked to have pictures taken. On Monday, April 1, 2024, at the age of 94, he passed away at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Survivors include his two sons, Michael Moore, and John (Jeanne) Moore, and stepdaughter, Wanda Tenhundfeld. Besides his parents and second wife, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Marie Moore and a brother, Wilford Petty Moore, Jr.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. A Masonic service will start at 12 noon, followed by the funeral service. The Bernard Hurst Post #77 Brookville American Legion will provide military honors graveside in St. Michael Cemetery.
