Lucille Weiler

Lucille Weiler age 93 of Milroy passed away on April 8, 2024 at her home.

Lucille was born July 2, 1930 in Franklin County the daughter of the late Alois and Marie (Bruns) Schwegman. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville. She married Don Weiler February 6, 1951 and he preceded her in death on January 26, 2013. They farmed in the Milroy community since 1963.

Survivors include four daughters Marilyn Weiler-Koster of Milroy, Darlene (Tim) Marlow of Milroy, Karen Jenkins of Milroy, Melissa (Danny) Lee of Greenwood; two sons Ron Weiler of Milroy and Kevin (Andrea) Weiler of Trabuco Canyon, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and another on the way.  Also surviving are a brother Wilfred (Linda) Schwegman and sisters Bernice (Ralph, deceased) Harmeyer and Kathleen (Don, deceased) Knue.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Tim Nisley, and brothers Walter (Sally, deceased) and Bernard (Judy, deceased) Schwegman.

Lucille loved farming, watching sports, flowers, and spending time with her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 12 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 512 N. Perkins St. in Rushville with Rev. Matthew Perronie officiating. Burial followed at Rushville’s Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was at St. Mary’s church and the Rosary was recited at 11:00 a.m.
