John L. Quinlan

John L. Quinlan, of Brookville, was born on April 12, 1947, in Laurel, a son to Russell Ernest and Elizabeth Wingler Quinlan. He served his country in the Unites States Army for many years and fought in Vietnam. John later joined the National Guard and ended his military career in the Army Reserve. He married Barbara Brashear on March 3, 1968, and they celebrated over 55 years of marriage before her death on September 5, 2023. John worked at D&M in Connersville for over 20 years and then as an owner/operator for Fraley Schilling. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the Brookville VFW and the American Legion. On Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the age of 77, he passed away at his residence.
Those surviving who will cherish John’s memory include his two sons and daughter-in law, Russell Quinlan and Joel and Brenda Quinlan, of Brookville; five grandchildren, Trey Quinlan, Taylor Stewart, Blake Quinlan, Rachel Quinlan, and Destiny Quinlan; eight great-grandkids, and one brother, Roger Quinlan. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Frieda Masters, Michael Quinlan, Richard Quinlan, Nancy Baize, Mary Alice Bruns, and Janie Howard.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 11a.m. until 12 noon at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow in Big Cedar Cemetery.
