Carol Sue Ison

Carol Sue Ison, 80, of Metamora, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Brookville Healthcare, where she had been in failing health for the past several months.

A child of Cecil and Rosella Wyatt Wilson, Carol was born November 3, 1943 in Batesville and was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. 

On October 9, 1960, Carol married Wilburn Dean Ison in Metamora. Mr. Ison survives. 

Carol was a dedicated homemaker and a loyal member of Apline Trinity Holiness Church. She loved attending church and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

Besides her husband of 63 years, Wilburn Ison, survivors include four children, Susan (Ken) Cox of Andersonville, Kenny Ison of Brookville, Doug Ison of Metamora, and Jeff (Stephanie) Ison of Brookville; thirteen grandchildren, Derick, Miranda, Ethan, Monica, Brett, Malynn, Billy Dean, Ashlie, Brittnay, Cole, Austin, Karley, and Kristen; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Wilson; her stepmother, Erma Wilson; two step-siblings, John and Theresa; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Carol is precseded in death by her son, Bill Ison; two daughter-in-law, Kim and Sandy Ison; two sisters, Wilma and Rita; five brothers, Bill, Sammy, Cecil (Jr.), Randy, and Raymond; and a stepbrother, Jack. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Metamora Church of God. Pastors Rob Rasner and Wayne Ison will officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
