Arthur received a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Economics from Purdue University in 1960 and furthered his education completing a Master’s degree also from Purdue.  Arthur was employed through Purdue 4-H Extension Services for 34 years prior to his retirement serving Clay, Perry, Jackson and Union Counties. Arthur enjoyed woodworking creating beautiful artwork as well as memories among family and friends, oftentimes challenging them to solve a variety of puzzles which he made.  Many possess a piece of him in their home whether it be a child’s toy, a bench, a puzzle, game or a walking cane.

Art had a keen interest in antique tools of which he collected and also used to make a variety of wood items. After his retirement he shared his passion of working with vintage tools by demonstrating their use at reenactments around the state as well as at the Pioneer Village at the Indiana State Fair for 20 years.  He also donated many hand-hewed benches, saw handle canes and plaques to organization auctions.

Whatever Art set out to do, he did so with passion and commitment.  He earned many honors and awards throughout the community, state, national, and professional, as well as through his volunteer organizations.

Arthur will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Sally, of sixty-one years; daughters: Marie (John) Beck, and Theresa Redinger; son: Roger Redinger; grandchildren: Leah (Alex) Johnson, Matthew Gharrity, Brian Redinger, Meghan (Brant Runkel) Redinger; great-grandchildren: Audrey, Quinn, Emery, and Boden; brother: Charles (Linda) Redinger; sister: Joy Evard; sister-in-law: Ginny Redinger; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends.
