Tonya Marie Hofer, age 74, of Metamora died Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Indiana University Hospital Medical Center in Indianapolis following a brief illness.
Born June 20, 1950 in Batesville she was one of five daughters born to the late Kelley S. and Edna Mae (Hubbard) Robinson.
Tonya worked for over 29 years as a Franklin County dispatcher, with the last 10 years serving as 911 Coordinator before her retirement. She had also been a flight attendant with Jet Blue, ComAir, and Republic Airlines for several years.
In her leisure time she enjoyed traveling, quilting, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her companion, James Sottong of Metamora; four children, Bradley A. (Annamaria) Shepard of Brookville, Emily A. Shepard of Oxford, Ohio, Paul M. (Challa) Shepard of Franklin and Matthew (Amber) Shepard of Rushville; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Teresa (Larry) Avery of Kentucky, Lorna Jones of Brookville, Cheryl (Steve) Bischoff of Brookville and Pat Helton of Oxford, Mississippi.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Erika Shepard; as well as two brothers-in-law, Don Jones and Freddie Helton.
Family and friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home.
