Volleyball team battles to start the year

The Lady Wildcat volleyball team competed at the East Central Invitational Saturday to begin the season and took on EIAC foe Rushville Monday.

At EC, the Cats couldn’t come up with a set in falling 2-0 to Union County, Connersville and the host team. The UC scores were 25-12, 25-23, the EC scores 25-12, 25-14 and CHS scores 25-20, 25-14. Monday the Wildcats won the first set before dropping the next three: 25-15, 18-25, 23-25, 16-25.

The girls host Batesville for a conference match Tuesday.

Dogs sweep county races
BHS cross country traveled to Jac-Cen-Del Thursday to compete at the county meet in some stubborn heat. Both Bulldog teams ran exceptionally well to capture Ripley County trophies, the girls finishing with a perfect score of 15 and the boys posting 23 to Milan’s 42.
