Eulah Vest and Jeanette Hoffbauer, lifelong best friends and residents of Franklin County, fulfilled a long-held wish today when they met the legendary Hulk Hogan at Kroger in Liberty Township, Ohio. Hogan was in the area promoting a new beer he co-founded, “Real American Beer.”

“Me and my bestie scratched one off the bucket list today,” said Vest. “We bonded over wrestling, and here we are doing this over 40 years later. I have always wanted to meet Hulk Hogan, and today I did.”

The two women got to Kroger at 10:45 a.m. and joined the long line of people waiting for the WWE Hall of Fame wrestler and global icon to arrive. Over three hours later, after striking up conversations and making new friends with fellow enthusiasts in line they finally had their moment.

“I have been a huge wrestling fan since I was a kid,” Vest said. “My dad took me to wrestling events when I was a kid, and I have always dreamed of meeting him. What an amazing experience and super nice man, and to make memories with your best friend is priceless.”

Hoffbauer has also been a long-time fan of Hogan and eagerly agreed to accompany her best friend when she suggested it.

“It was so exciting to see one of the greatest American Icons,” Hoffbauer shared. “I loved him as a wrestler, but I loved him in Rocky as Thunderlips! I actually called him the ‘Ultimate Male’ like in the movie,” Hoffbauer laughed. “When I called him that, his eyes got big, and he said, wow, and called me the ultimate woman. He seemed humble and very kind, and he was not rushed; he just flowed.”

Real American Beer is a handcrafted light lager proudly brewed in the USA made from 100% North American malt and hops. It’s brewed longer and cold fermented, making a light, crisp, easy-drinking beer. Visit therealamerican.com for more information. Real American Beer is currently available in 10 states: Ohio, Wisconsin, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana and Rhode Island.
