The UC soccer teams played three varsity twin bills in six days, visiting Tri-County North in Ohio Thursday followed by hosting EIAC teams Greensburg and Rushville Saturday and Tuesday.

The results weren’t pretty for the Lady Pats (1-4) in the first two matches – 8-0 loss to TCN and 9-0 loss to Greensburg – but UC bounced back for a 3-2 win over the Lady Lions despite four offside calls. Seven other shots on goal were saved by the Lion keeper. Railyn Combs and Carly Senour scored goals for the guests. The victory was significant, being the first since Oct. 7, 2021, at sectional vs. Knightstown.

The Patriot boys (0-5) suffered shutout losses to TCN (8-0), Greensburg (8-0) and Rushville (4-0), leaving the team with just one goal through five matches. The Pirates deposited six goals in Saturday’s first half. The Millers, Cy and Jacoby, each scored twice for the Bucs. Rushville had two goals per half. Griffin Norris and Korbin Mastin split scoring duties.

The boys host Oldenburg Academy today and after Labor Day, UC visits Connersville for a doubleheader Tuesday.
