Cleora A. ‘Sis’ Kuntz, age 94, of Brookville died Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville.
Born February 22, 1930 in Ripley County she was one of seven children born to the late Edward and Ruth (Kirschner) Dierckman. On September 25, 1954 she became the wife of Robert J. ‘Bob’ Kuntz, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2018.
A homemaker, she and her husband also had owned and operated the former Village Bar & Restaurant in Brookville for over 22 years.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Rock/Holy Family Catholic Church. In her leisure time she enjoyed flowers and gardening, cooking, sewing and crocheting doilies.
Survivors include three children, Sharon (Tom) Bolser of West Harrison, Patty (Jim) Watkins of Brookville and Dale Kuntz of Brookville; five grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Dierckman of Batesville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Bob, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolores Reer and Roberta Brunsman; and three brothers, Joe, Elmer, and Milton Dierckman.
Family and friends may visit from 4 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville; where the Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.
Rev. John Barker will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 12, 2024, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary of the Rock Catholic Church, 17440 St. Marys Road, Batesville, Indiana 47006. Burial will then follow in Ss. Philomena and Cecilia Catholic Cemetery in Oak Forest.
