Phyllis Ann Coffey

Phyllis Ann Coffey, of Bath, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital, Oxford, Ohio, at the age of 92.  

Born on January 29, 1932, a daughter to Riley and Marjorie (Eldon) Hampson in Whitewater Township, Franklin County.  She graduated from Whitewater High School.  She married Albert E. Coffey on May 10, 1952, at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church, and he preceded her in death on July 20, 2020.

A kind and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Phyllis enjoyed family gatherings, going on her weekly rides with her daughters, cooking and making gifts for the grandchildren.  She shared the farm work with her husband Albert until their retirement.  In the fall you would find her in the combine during harvest.  The Franklin County 4-H Fair was always special to Phyllis and Albert as they met in 4-H and both were ten year members with three more generations that followed in her footsteps.

Those surviving who will cherish her memory include daughters Connie Sparks (Carl Fix) and Jeannine Helmig; grandchildren Dawn Libecap (Brad Hertel), Alex Jameson, and Jack Helmig (Kourtni); great grandchildren Summer Libecap (Max Leigh), Kyliee, Kaylynne, Jayse and Kamriee Helmig; and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn Jameson; and two brothers Gilbert and Francis Hampson.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no public services.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Franklin County 4-H Association Building Fund and mailed to : Franklin County 4-H Association, PO Box 284, Brookville IN 47012.

The family would like to thank the staff at McCullough Hyde Hospital, Dr. Brent Bader, and the staff at Woodland Manor and Brookville Healthcare Center for their care of Phyllis.
