Helen Holder

Helen (Fancher) Holder, 92 of Rushville, passed away February 22, 2024 in Greensburg. She was born January 26, 1932 in Rush County,  to the late Delbert and Willie Lee (Moore) Fancher. Helen was a 1950 graduate of Milroy High School. She married Charles W. Holder December 31, 1950 and he preceded her in death May 22, 2020.

Helen was a wonderful homemaker all through her life and also helped tutor students in reading at Milroy Elementary. She was a member of Milroy Christian Church. Helen enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting and antiques. She enjoyed cooking chocolate chip cookies for her family. Helen loved her time spent with family and always wanted to know when they were coming home.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Susan (Kenny) Frye of Loogootee, Jane (Jim) Davis of Cullman, Ala. and Lisa Holder of Rushville; sister, Lois Liggett of Rush County. She will also be missed by her granddaughters, Lissa Frye, Chastity (Matthew) Sward, Jenny (Scott) Brubaker, Heidi Holder (Cody) Garrison, great-grandchildren, Caleb, Faith and Anna Sward and Miles and Charlee Garrison.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Harold Fancher.

Services were held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 1 p.m. in Moster Mortuary, with Ron Simbro and Doug Toothman presiding. Friends visited the family until the time of service at the mortuary. Burial was held in Fisher/Richland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fisher/Richland Cemetery Association and Milroy Christian Church. The daughters of Helen would like to thank the caregivers at Aspen Memory Care Center and Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
