Thomas Darrell Weber

February 28, 2024 at 1:18 p.m.

Thomas Darrell Weber, 79, of Madison, and formerly of Bethlehem, Indiana, passed from this life on February 25, 2024, into the arms of our Lord and Savior, surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 20, 1944, to William Weber and Marie Laurel Weber. He was a 1963 graduate of Short High School in Liberty, and attended Vincennes University and Ball State University. His professional career was in manufacturing, but he found a true calling in his second act as the founder of Rest on the River, a Christian rest home in Bethlehem, specializing in care for Alzheimer's patients. In retirement, he continued his calling to serve and was a caretaker for many beloved friends in the Madison, area. He was a member of Bethlehem Community Church and Southeast Christian Church.

Tom was a talented runner in his younger years and an avid golfer in his later years. But most of all, he loved attending his grandkids' sports and activities. He was “Pops” to his five sons, “Grandpops” to his 11 grandchildren, and was an endless source of encouragement and support to his family.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert D. Weber and David A. Weber; sister-in-law, Kathy Weber; and many dear friends for whom he was a caretaker.

He is survived by his fianceé and caretaker, Karen Walker; brother, Kenneth J. Weber; sister-in-law, Sharon Weber; sons, Ryan Weber (Pam), Clayton Weber (Karen), Shannon Weber (Carrie), Randy Weber (Sherri), and Casey Weber (Stacey); grandchildren, Kaelee Hubert (Phillip), Eli, Savannah, Riley, Lilli, Bryce, Ava, Maggie, Thomas, Cameron, Andrew; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The Weber family would like to express their most sincere thanks and appreciation to Tom's fianceé, Karen, who took such loving and gracious care of Pops during his final days.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 2:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Bethlehem Community Church in Bethlehem. Saturday visitation hours will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the memorial will commence at 11:00 a.m., with pastor Kurt Sauder officiating. Following the burial at Bethlehem Cemetery, all are welcome to join the family for lunch at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tom's memory to Bethlehem Community Church, P.O. Box 6, New Washington, Indiana 47162.
