Randy Lee Hofer

Randy Lee Hofer, age 68, of Brookville, died Thursday, January 4, 2024 at his residence in Brookville, following a brief illness.

Born January 7, 1955 in Batesville, he was one of two sons born to the late Robert E. and Betty Faye (Calihan) Hofer.  

In his leisure time he enjoyed nature, particularly hiking in the Smoky Mountains, spending time with his children and grandchildren, playing his guitar and listening to music, and was an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds fan.  He was a member of the Brookville United Methodist Church, where he had been a member of the church choir.  

Randy worked for 41 years at Brookville Tire Mart, and the last several years as a delivery driver for George’s Pharmacy in Brookville.

Survivors include four sons, Dustin Hofer of Brookville, Brett (Amber) Hofer of Batesville, Derek (Brandi) Hofer of West Harrison, Brooks (Hannah) Hofer of Brookville; eight grandchildren, Graham Hofer, Hudson Hofer, Paisley Hofer, Dawson Hofer, Gwendolyn Hofer, Meredith Hofer, Bennett Hofer, and Hayden Hofer; a brother, Rob (Penny) Hofer of Brookville, Indiana.

In addition to his parents, Bob and Betty Hofer, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jennifer Hofer.

Family and friends visited on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Rev. Steve Rundel, pastor of the Brookville United Methodist Church, will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Brookville United Methodist Church, 150 East 8TH Street, Brookville.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
