1-1 week has Lady Cats at 12-6

Franklin County's varsity Lady Cats fell to Connersville Friday night in a low-scoring affair at home in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference matchup.
At the end of one frame FC was up 7-4 and at halftime it was 14-14. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, they continued to turn the ball over in the second half and Connersville was able to pull away with the 36-27 win.
Senior Nicole Mears led the team with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Sophomore Ruby Singer added 9 points and 6 boards. Bailey Kaiser hit a 3-pointer and Kendall Cox a free throw.
Franklin County then improved to 12-6 overall by annihilating host Hagerstown Saturday, 67-15. FC started the first frame up 16-3 and were up 35-8 at halftime. The Cats were able to improve upon 6-of-17 foul shooting in the first half.
Junior Madesyn Sunderhaus led the team in scoring with 21 points, draining a quintet of threes. Singer had a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds. Mears ended the game with 12 points and 7 caroms. Junior Tiffany Billman added 10. Mackenzie Broshear scored 4, Kaiser 3 and Kaylee Hanna 2.
The team is 4-2 in the EIAC with 3 regular season games remaining – at Shenandoah Thursday, at Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Saturday and senior night hosting South Dearborn Tuesday.
