The Thursday, Jan 18,  Patriots girls basketball game and the boys basketball game on Friday, Jan 19, will allow community members to give back in honor of a special community member, Johnny Welborn.

Johnny Welborn Cowboy Boot Night honors Welborn, who was Union County High School (UCHS) sports super-fan and student supporter. Welborn dedicated much of his time to tutoring, athletic department help and school board work.

Donations for the Johnny Welborn Achievement Fund at UC Foundation will be accepted during the game. Those unable to attend the game can still make a memorial gift to the Johnny Welborn Achievement Fund by visiting https://www.ucfoundationinc.org/donate/. Checks can be mailed to Union County Foundation, Inc., 404 Eaton St., Liberty, IN 47353.
