Betty A. Rose, 86, of Laurel, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at her home.

One of six children of Willard and Rebecca Tackett Hicks, Betty was born at home in Carter County, Kentucky on August 31, 1937 and graduated from Carter County High School with the class of 1955.

On January 22, 1957, Betty married Gilbert “John” Rose in Rowan County, Kentucky.  Mr. Rose passed away on July 1, 1998.

Along with her husband, Betty owned and operated Rose Transportation, Incorporated from 1986 until their retirement in 1992.

Betty was a faithful member of Lakeview Pentecostal Church and attended Buena Southern Baptist Church.  In her leisure time Betty enjoyed putting together puzzles, camping, flowers, and spending time with her family. 

Survivors include two sons, Charles (Rita) Rose and Randal Rose (fianceé, Theresa Lovins-Halpin) all of Laurel; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one brother, Enoch (Veda) Hicks of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and three sisters, Venice Gilbert of Moorehead, Kentucky, Charlene Callihan of Olive Hill, and Joy Davis of Mansfield, Ohio.

In addition to her husband of over 41 years, John Rose, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gilbert Rose and Wesley Rose; and a brother, Marvin Hicks.

Family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, Connersville.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the funeral home.  Reverend Rob Edwards will officiate.  Burial will follow in Laurel North Cemetery.
