Rebecca J. Fancher, 84, a lifelong Rush County resident passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at her home in Rushville. Rebecca was born on March 27, 1939 in Rush County to the late Dedrich H. and Ruth (Saunders) Sembach.

Rebecca was a 1958 graduate of New Salem High School. Rebecca married Ralph E. Fancher on July 5, 1986 and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1999. Rebecca was a public accountant; she owned and operated Evelyn Richer ACCY. for 59 years. She bowled on the Rushville women's league, was a member of East Central Chapter ISA, National Society of Accountants and Associate Manager of Rushville USBC WBA. She was also a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church.

Rebecca is survived by a son, Gordon (Valerie) McGowan of Rushville, two brothers, William (Janet) Sembach of Arlington, Paul (Lisa) Sembach of Glenwood, a sister, Julia (Alan) Coon of Glenwood, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rebecca was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Jane Sembach, previous husband, J.C. McGowan and a grandson, John McGowan.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2024 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Pastor John Wall presided. Friends visited until the time of service the same day at the mortuary. Burial was in Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
