John Brian Anderson

John Brian Anderson passed away on January 26, 2024 surrounded by his family at the age of 56.  Brian was born on November 18, 1967, in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of the late John H. and Barbara Jean Davis Anderson.  

Brian graduated from Union County High School in 1986 and went on to receive his associates' degree in engineering from Purdue University.    

He was united in marriage on December 2, 1989 to the former Michelle Newton.  They shared 34 years of marriage prior to his death.    

Brian was a train enthusiast and volunteer at the Whitewater Valley Railroad in Connersville.  He served as a Boy Scout Leader for over 15 years, coached various sports in Union County, and showed Percheron work horses. He  loved to go camping and to the races. Brian was a member of Liberty Lodge F. & A.M. #58.  He lived an adventurous life and valued the time he spent with his family.

He worked as an engineer at Stant Manufacturing in Connersville for over 20 years where he had three accredited and recorded patents on the national and international levels. 

In addition to his wife Michelle, his love and memories will be cherished by his son, Brian K. Anderson; granddaughter, Addilyn R. Anderson; sister Susan (Joe) Ray; and brother, Michael (Becca) Anderson.  He will be thought of often by his nieces and nephews, Nicole (Alex) Kassian, Jason (Elizabeth) Ray, Ayden Anderson, Kristi (Jason) Cones, Amber (Nick) Ramsey, Danielle (Jamal) Lott, Ashley (Ben) Collins and Rachel (Clayton) Scott; 21 great-nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Billie (Mary Ann) Newton; sister-in-law, Teresa (Rodney) Harris; special friends, Kathleen Vizedom and Dorothy Ray; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Billie J. and Vivian Newton and a niece, Brandi Newton.

Friends may gather with the family at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home on Saturday February 3, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm with a Masonic service at 6:00 pm.  Funeral service will be held at Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church on Sunday February 4, 2024 at 12:30 pm with Pastor Ben Dilworth and Pastor Rob Rogers officiating.
