Michael Cole Estes, age 23, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and formerly of Brookville a died unexpectedly Monday, June 24 at his residence in Colorado Springs.
Born June 29, 2000 in Cincinnati, Ohio he is the son of Johnnie & Barbara (Savett) Estes.
He finished lineman training at Southeast Lineman Training Center in Trenton, Georgia, and began as a lineman for Kiewit Corporation in January 2023.
Michael was a delight to be around and made friends everywhere he went. He was good natured and kind to others. He enjoyed fishing, music, video games, playing his guitar and attending concerts.
Survivors include his parents, Barbara and Johnnie Estes of Brookville; sisters, Melissa (Matt) Blatnik of Loveland, Ohio, Katelyn (Kevin) Nielsen of Harrison, Ohio, Kylie (Jesse) Bowling of Brookville; brothers, Wade Estes & Zane Estes both of Brookville and Nathan Yeager of Charleston, South Carolina; as well as his nieces & nephews, Carson Abner, Caydence Abner, Tristan Hartman, Lily Blatnik, Malcolm Blatnik, Lily Yeager, Charles Yeager, Mallory Holtgrefe and Maci Nielsen.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Beneford & Brenda Estes.
Family and friends visited from 3 until 6 p.m. on Friday, June 28, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Steve Rundel officiated the Funeral Services at 6 p.m., Friday, June 28.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Friends of the Franklin County Animal Shelter. Michael will be deeply missed and forever loved.
