Traffic stop leads to narcotic arrest

According to a press release from the Liberty Police Department, on Wednesday, Feb. 21, while conducting speed enforcement near US 27 North and North Market Street, Officer Brandon Creech observed a vehicle driving over the posted 55MPH zone. Creech conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and, after a short investigation, resulted in the discovery of narcotics, including cocaine and open alcohol containers. The driver was identified as Tyreke Braxton of Richmond, arrested and booked into the Union County Jail for -
- Possession of Cocaine or narcotic drug
- Possession of Marijuana
- Driving without a license
Braxton was charged with 35-48-4-6 (F6), Possession of a Narcotic Drug, 35-48-4-11 (MB), Possession of Marijuana, 9-24-18-1/MC: Knowingly or Intentionally Operating Motor Vehicle w/o Ever Receiving a license.
The passenger, identified as Morgan Hale, was cited and released from the scene for possession of Marijuana, a class A Misdemeanor.
Braxton's initial hearing has been scheduled for March 04 at 1:30 p.m. Judicial Officer Matthew Cox will oversee the case.
All arrested subjects should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
