State Road closure begins April 9
March 15, 2024 at 10:40 a.m.
Starting April 9th, State Road 1 will be closed until Nov. 20th. There will be two stages, reported by Justin Ball. Closure one will start north of Brookville down to Reservoir Road. Closure two will start north of Blooming Grove down to Laurel Road.
There will be two unofficial detours for these closures, namely Reservoir Road and Fairfield Causeway.
The commissioners do acknowledge how narrow these roads are; however, residents do use these often and are safe to be used as detours following proper driving conduct.
The official detour for trucks is following St. Road 101 to St. Road 44 towards Connersville.
The commissioners thank the public for their understanding and cooperation.
