Ruth J. Ramsey, age 78, of Brookville, Indiana died Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, Indiana.

Born May 10, 1945 in Sand Gap, Kentucky she was one of seventeen children born to the late Charlie & Hallie Gibbs.  She was united in marriage to Gordon Ramsey, and he survives.

Ruth was retired, having worked for several years at the former J. Garment Company in Brookville, and then later at AVCO in Richmond, Indiana.  In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, and spending time with family & friends.  

Besides her loving husband, Gordon, survivors include two children, Natalie R. Ramsey and Scott Ramsey both of Brookville two grandchildren, Dylan Ramsey and Carlee Ramsey; two sisters, Lou Skakie of Missouri and Vadis Sumpter of Michigan.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by fourteen siblings.

Family & friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, with burial following in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
