Ruth K. Sizemore, age 93, of Brookville, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the home of her son in Brookville.
Born December 16, 1930 in New Trenton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Louis and Rose Marie (Wehrle) Smith. She was united in marriage to Lendon Sizemore on July 3, 1952 and he survives.
A homemaker, she had also worked at the former U.S. Shoe, and retired from J & J Packaging in Brookville. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
In her leisure time she enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family, gardening and canning her harvest, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved life.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 72 years, Lendon; three children, Bill (Catie) Sizemore; Nancy (the late, Thomas) Benevengo; and Scott (Jacqueline) Sizemore all of Brookville; two grandsons, Justin (Whitney) Sizemore and Lendon Thomas Sizemore; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Hall, Pauletta Kuntz and Virginia Kolb; as well as three brothers, Marion Smith, Robert Smith and Anthony Smith.
Family and friends visited Friday, May 10, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville; where the Holy Rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m.
Rev. Matthew Perronie officiated the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 11, 2024; 10:00 a.m., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 145 St. Michael’s Blvd., Brookville. Burial followed in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
