Rusty Sprague

Rusty Sprague, age 66, of Brookville died peacefully Thursday, October 31, 2024, surrounded by family and friends at his residence in Brookville.
Born December 19, 1957, in Oxford, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles K. and Betty L. (Goen) Sprague. On June 20, 1989, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, the former Jean Reece, and she survives.
Rusty sold insurance for many years with his father. He was a member of the Harmony Masonic Lodge #11 in Brookville as well as the Sons of the American Legion Post 77. In his leisure time, he enjoyed cycling and was an active golfer. He was a fan of the Bengals, the Reds, and liked to watch I.U. basketball. Most of all, Rusty loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Besides Jean, his loving wife of over 35 years, survivors include two sons, Justin Sprague of Brownsburg and Ryan Sprague of Whitestown; and a brother, Randy Sprague of Greenfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cathy Kriech.
Family and friends visited Monday, November 4, 2024, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Pastor Steve Rundel officiated the funeral services on Monday, November 4, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial immediately followed in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society and the Cancer Research Institute.
