Virgil O. Sayers

November 6, 2024 at 1:08 p.m.

Virgil O. Sayers, 68, of Connersville, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, at Reid Health Richmond.

One of six children of Virgil Oscar and Doris Flitcraft Sayers, Virgil was born January 20, 1956 in Hamilton, Ohio and attended Connersville High School.

Virgil found enjoyment in the simple things, like fixing tractors and cars, reading his Bible, hunting ginseng, and a hard day’s work on the farm. He had a good sense of humor and was always ready with a witty remark to brighten someone’s day. More than that, he was a truly helpful and giving person, always willing to lend a hand or share what he had with those in need.

Survivors include five siblings, Doris Hensley of Dayton, Ohio, Brice (Cindy) Sayers of Richmond, and Robin, Ricky, and Karen Sayers, all of Connersville; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Virgil is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jerry Hensley; and step-father, Robert Foster.

Friends and family visited until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Stan Howard officiated. Burial followed in Laurel North Cemetery.
