John Roberts Jr.

John Roberts Jr., age 63, of Metamora passed peacefully early Sunday morning, November 17, 2024 at the his residence in Metamora following a brief illness.

Born October 9, 1961 in Batesville he was the son of the late John Sr. and Rachel Josephine (Russell) Roberts.  On May 31, 1980 he was united in marriage to the former Donna Collins, and she survives.

John was retired, having worked for over 21 years as a Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy; he had also previously served as a Laurel Town Marshal and had worked for Batesville Casket Co. for over 20 years.  In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, shooting, traveling and vacationing with his family.

Besides Donna, his loving wife of over 44 years, survivors include four children, Jason (Kristin) Roberts of Connersville, Jeremy (Bobbi) Roberts of Blooming Grove; Rebecca Combs of Metamora and honorary son, Aron (Debra) Robinson of Connersville; a sister, Anita Wells of Metamora, two brothers, Leroy (Bonnie) Roberts of Laurel and Lonnie (Kami) Roberts of Metamora; a sister-in-law, Carol Roberts of Metamora; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Roberts, who died August 13, 2020.

Family and friends may visit from 5 till 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Trinity Full Gospel Church, 20015 Haytown Hill Road, Metamora.

Merle Seeley will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Trinity Full Gospel Holiness Church; burial will then follow in Cupps Chapel Cemetery in Metamora.
