Frank Murrell

Frank Murrell, 93, of Laurel, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at his residence.

One of 11 children to William Murrell and Lucy Wilson, Frank was born May 16, 1931, in Salem.

Frank served his country in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Rochester during the Korean Conflict. He received his honorable discharge in 1952, having earned the rank of Seaman.

On April 24, 1955, Frank married the former Jean Ann Poe at Laurel United Methodist in Laurel. Mrs. Murrell survives.

Frank worked as a machinist for Roots Blowers for many years until his retirement in 1991. In his leisure time, he enjoyed to fish and tend to his yard. 

Besides his wife of 69 years, Jean Ann Murrell, survivors include two children, Brian (Teresa) Murrell of Cincinnati, and David (Judy) Murrell of Batesville; eight grandchildren, Shawna (Irvin) Vanderpohl of Greensburg, Eric Murrell of Indianapolis, Taylor (Trevor) Shutters of Metamora, Breanne (Stephen) Lilak of Columbus, Ohio, Maryjean (Alexander) Milykh of Moscow, Russia, and Anna, Brian, and Patrick Murrell, all of Cincinnati; 10 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Don Murrell and Betty Jo Murrell; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Frank is preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings. 

Private services will be held at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Eric Hopkins will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Laurel North Cemetery.
