The 1st Annual Elwood High School Alumni Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony was held in August. One of the four inaugural inductees included Rushville’s very own Wendell Willkie. The award was accepted on his behalf by his grandson, David Willkie. The others inducted included Lou Gerig, Mike Bomholt, and Dr. Greg Durm.

“A fantastic time was had by all, and we absolutely cannot wait to continue this tradition each year,” said the Elwood Community Schools Facebook page. “Thank you to all who assisted in making this dream become a reality. If you’re in the high school, please stop by the front hallway to see the new Alumni Hall of Fame Wall.”

The Elwood High School Alumni Hall of Fame honors outstanding graduates of Elwood High School who make meaningful contributions to their communities and professions, demonstrate remarkable academic or professional achievements and actively support Elwood Community Schools.
