Jeffrey Dale Montgomery, age 70, of Las Vegas passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024. He was born on June 9, 1954 in Batesville to his parents Robert and Carolyn Montgomery. Jeff was raised in Indiana. He played the drums in a band, played football, and wrestled for his high school. Jeff graduated from Brookville High School in 1972.

Shortly after high school, Jeffrey enlisted in the US Navy where he served a long and distinguished career. Jeff, retired after 21 years of service; obtaining the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer and being awarded his Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist Badge, National Defense Service Medal (Second Award), Navy Commendation Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (Fourth Award), Navy Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal (Fifth Award); and a Meritorious Unit Commendation.

Following his retirement from the US Navy, Jeff went on to own and operate a Jam trucking company which leased on to Indy Specialized, in Plainfield.

Later in life, Jeff met the love of his life, Marcia on July 18, 1999; and the two were married October 1, 1999.

Jeff was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his country, his family and his friends. He was a member of BMI American Legion Post 40, a Life Member of the VFW, and the Kansas City BBQ Society. He loved hunting, fishing, collecting and doing tricks with YoYos, Participating in BBQ events, and sharing with others about God.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Marica K. Montgomery; his children: Victoria Montgomery, Pamela Hupp (Matthew), and Scott Montgomery (Wendy); his sisters: Angie Schwarb (Roger) and Tami Rosenberger (Lyle); his stepsons: Shawn Smith and Marsh Smith; five grandchildren, four nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Scott Montgomery; and his sister, Sally Montgomery.

A memorial service with military honors for Jeffrey was held Friday, September 6, 2024 beginning at 11:00 AM at Palm Mortuary - Henderson, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
