Richard Ruble

Richard I. Ruble passed away peacefully August 28, 2024 and with God’s grace joined his wife, Sue. They were married May 11, 1974, until her passing in 2019. Richard was 86 years old.

Richard was born September 17, 1937 at Greensburg, the son of the late Elza and Bonnie (Glenn) Ruble. Other survivors include six children. Lisa Ruble (Jim Graham) of Indianapolis, Lisa (Bill) Hubbard of Shelbyville, Lori Ruble of Indianapolis, Sharon (Wayne) Fox of Hope, James (Tonya) Ruble of Metamora and Shane Ruble; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers, Willis and Darrel Ruble and two sisters Loretta Holmes and Georgia Holmes, along with many nieces, nephews and friends will miss him.

Preceding him in death are his loving wife, Sue (McDaniels) Ruble, daughter, Leslie Ruble; his parents, six brothers: Dale, Ralph, Alvin, Jimmy, Marvin and David Ruble; sisters Sally York, Royla Dane, Sharon Councellor, Glenna Robinson.

Richard enlisted in the Army in 1957 and served in Germany, later he served in the Army National Guard until he retired in 1992 as First Sergeant. Following his retirement he spent his time with his wife enjoying the things they loved like antiquing, gardening, taking long rides or just relaxing by sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds and visiting with family and friends that stopped by. Richard was a member of the Buena Southern Missionary  Baptist Church.

Graveside services with Military Honors will take place 11 a.m. Saturday Sept. 28, 2024 at the Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Pastor Rob Edwards will officiate.  Please light a virtual candle and share your memory with the family at www.ToddFuneralHome.com
