A free community health event featuring Dr. Jonathon Dalton will be held at the RCHS Laughlin Center, 1201 Lion’s Path, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.  RCS is sponsoring Dalton’s presentation “Parenting in the Age of Anxiety: Evidence-based but Counterintuitive Strategies and Techniques.” The event is for educators, parents and community members.

Dalton is a licensed psychologist who has been specializing in evidence-based treatment of anxiety and related disorders for over 20 years. Dalton is also the founder of the Center for Anxiety and Behavioral Change.

“I specialize in the treatment of anxiety-based school avoidance through a comprehensive protocol that includes exposure therapy, group skills training, parent management training, and school consultation,” Dalton says. “I have a special interest in the intersection of neurodivergence and anxiety, especially in the context of school avoidance. I frequently speak locally and nationally, consult with school systems and independent schools, train other mental healthcare professionals and offer presentations to the general public.”

Dalton strongly believes community outreach and providing professional training is a critical part of his professional mission.
