Secretary of State Diego Morales is continuing to visit several counties hand-delivering local Election Improvement Grants. Friday, Secretary Morales visited Union County.

Since the start of the year, Secretary Morales has delivered grant checks to more than 88 Indiana counties for local election security, safety, and voter outreach projects. The counties are receiving grant dollars from the Federal Help America Vote Act to go toward local election improvement and security efforts. This new round of statewide grants is valued at approximately $1 million.

“Hand-delivering these election improvement grants ahead of Election Day is a crucial step in ensuring counties are well-equipped to maintain safe and secure elections statewide. As Indiana’s Chief Election Officer, this direct engagement reflects my commitment to strengthening voter integrity and providing necessary tools and resources to our local counties. At each of the more than 88 visits, I’ve reiterated that it takes a team to get the job done and the Hoosier state is leading the way,” said Diego Morales, Indiana Secretary of State. Secretary Morales strongly encourages every eligible Hoosier to register to vote prior to the upcoming Oct. 7th registration deadline and vote in the Nov. 5th General Election.

Morales took a few minutes to speak to the Union County clerks to thank them for all of their hard work, dedication, and resilience. He further states that he’s honored to be our Secretary of State and to have both the privilege and honor of working alongside these ladies. He presented two updated maps for the clerks, and several flyers, all of which the clerks were pleased to inform him they had received earlier in the week.

The clerks also expressed their thanks to Secy. Morales for all of his work, listening to them, providing any resources they needed, and overall, being so generous with his un
