Don’t miss the season’s last Columbia Street Music Festival this Saturday, Sept. 21, in the historic village of Metamora. The day will be filled with diverse live acts, including the talented headliner, the Grascals. From soulful R&B and classic Country to captivating Folk, Americana, and toe-tapping Bluegrass, this festival has something for everyone. There is even an open jam stage for those who want to join in the fun.

Four bands will perform on three stages, along with delicious food and various vendors. Coolers are welcome.

The main stage is set outdoors and will first welcome My Brother’s Keeper from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by The Grammy-nominated Bluegrass band The Grascals from 7 to 9 p.m.

Inside the Cat & The Fiddle Cat and The $2 Pistols will perform from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Frank Black will perform at Harlan’s Juke Joint from 5 to 7 p.m. Both buildings are on Columbia Street.

Ruthie Mae’s Jam Stage will hold the open jam session from 4 to 7 p.m.

The Grascals band is from Nashville, Tennessee, and has won two Entertainer of the Year awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association and has made appearances on Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Fox & Friends, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and CBS’ The Talk. Honors also include performing twice for President George W. Bush and Barack Obama’s inaugural ball at the Smithsonian.

The Grascals have over 200 guest appearances on the Grand Ole Opry to their credit and have also performed on the revered stages of Radio City Music Hall, the Ryman Auditorium, and the Kennedy Center, as well as music festivals such as MerleFest, Stagecoach, and the CMA Music Festival.

The band has also had the opportunity to record and share the stage with several country music legends, including Dolly Parton, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Hank Williams, Jr., George Jones, Kenny Rogers, Brooks & Dunn, Patty Loveless, The Oak Ridge Boys, Steve Wariner, Tom T. Hall, The Jordanaires, and more.
