The Oldenburg Academy boys tennis team defeated Edinburgh 4-1 Sept. 12 for the team’s sixth consecutive win. The Twisters featured wins by Clay Eckstein at #1 singles 6-1, 6-1, Jacob Stenger at #2 singles 6-4, 2-6, 10-6, Grant Goldsmith and Jack Freeland at #1 doubles 6-2, 6-1, and Zach Phillips and Grant Rosenberger at #2 doubles 6-0, 6-2.

The Twisters are experiencing one of the best seasons in recent program history. After a slow start with losses to Trinity Lutheran, East Central and Jennings County, OA righted themselves and ran off a string of wins against Lincoln (3-2), Union County (3-2), Morristown (4-1), Rushville (3-2), and Milan (3-2) prior to the match against Edinburgh and now stand at 6-3.

Head coach Brian Ruter said, “The team’s willingness to put in the effort in practice has led them to success on the court. This is just the beginning.”
