Darrin and Thomasina McGowan, owners of Pinnacle Martial Arts in Rushville, proudly hosted its 4th Annual Karate Seminar, featuring a special guest instructor, Sensei Lucky Phillips, an 8th Degree Black Belt from Springfield, Ill. Held on Sept. 14th, the seminar welcomed martial artists from six states—Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Georgia, and Florida—gathering for a weekend of advanced training and camaraderie.

Mr. Phillips is an 8th Degree Black Belt and began training in 1979 under Phillip Koeppel, a 10th Degree Black Belt and Karate pioneer.

The seminar provided a unique opportunity for practitioners of all levels to sharpen their skills, exchange insights, and train under one of the Midwest’s most respected martial artists.

A fun fact about this year’s seminar: the collective martial arts experience among the participants totaled 1,197 years! This impressive number reflects the depth of experience and dedication present in the room, contributing to an atmosphere of learning, respect, and tradition.

The event was a testament to the growing influence of Pinnacle Martial Arts in the martial arts community, bringing together practitioners from across the country. Participants left the seminar with new techniques, a renewed sense of purpose, and valuable connections.

Pinnacle Martial Arts looks forward to continuing this tradition of high-level training and community building in future seminars. For more information about Pinnacle Martial Arts, contact them at www.pinnacle-martialarts.com.
