Dillard A. McKinney, 95, of Francisco passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at North River Nursing Home. He was born April 4, 1929 in Oakland City to the late Dillard A. McKinney and Clemence (Laroche) McKinney. Dillard married Doris (Nance) McKinney and was blessed with 64 years of marriage before her passing in 2016. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1951 until 1959. Dillard worked at Princeton Middle School for 35 years as a math teacher. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working the farm. Later in life he liked to work sudoku puzzles and “banter” with all around.
Dillard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris McKinney; siblings, Laura, George, Harry, and Chic.
He is survived by his children, Tim McKinney and Dan (Connie) McKinney; grandchildren, Russell McKinney, Keith (Ashley) McKinney, Brandon (Natalie) McKinney, and Meagan (Greg) Goodman; and nine great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Spurgeon Cemetery in Pike Co. with Judy Williams officiating. Military honors will be provided by The Retired Military Veterans.
