William “Bill” Pike Jr.

William (Bill) Pike Jr., 70, passed away December 31st, 2024, surrounded by those closest to him. Bill was born October 14, 1954, in Rushville, Indian. He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bob) and Avalon Pike, brother Charles (Fred), and sister Julie. Bill is survived by his wife Janet Busald Pike, sons Jason, Joshua, and Jonathan, and sisters Jean Angle (David), Carolyn Dailey (James), and Theresa Heuer (Hollis).
Bill was the cherished husband and best friend of Janet Busald Pike for 44 years. He was a much loved father to Jason (Jodi) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Joshua (Erin) of Greensburg, and Jonathan (Lukas) of Indianapolis. He was also a beloved grandfather to Ella, Claire, Evan, Quinn, Lane and Cole.
Bill was a graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School in 1972 where he played football. After high school he earned an associate’s degree in Louisville. Bill then returned home to farm, a passion that allowed him to work alongside his father. His farming career continued as he was able to then farm with his son and grandkids. He was an active member of the Rushville Knights of Columbus where he served as Grand Knight, as well as the Rush County Fair Board. Bill didn’t know a stranger and was considered a friend to many. He instilled a work ethic in his children that will undoubtedly be carried forward for generations. His grandchildren became the light of his life, and he loved spending invaluable time with them. Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren fishing, traveling, farming, taking them to the movies, playing games and boating at the lake.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30am, Saturday, January 4, 2025 in St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville with Fr. Dustin Boehm officiating. Friends visited family on Saturday at Moster Mortuary prior to the service. Rosary was held at 8:15am in the mortuary. Burial was in Fisher Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bob and Avie Pike Family Memorial R.N. Scholarship Fund.
