Cindy C. Orschell

Cindy C. Orschell was born on November 18, 1968, in Connersville a daughter to Odell and Novella Lay Cross.  She graduated from Laurel High School, class of 1987 and later obtained her medical assisting degree from Ivy Tech.  Although she began her career in the medical field, most people will remember Cindy from the Franklin County Planning and Building Department where she spent 36 years.  Recently she had went to work in the Assessors Office and was a 2nd deputy.  Cindy dedicated many hours to her Brookville community.  In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, and loving on her wiener dog, Oscar.  Most of all, Cindy loved being with her grandkids and family.  On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the age of 56, she passed away at her residence with her loved ones by her side.

Those surviving who will cherish Cindy’s memory include her two sons, Austin (Chantell) Orschell and Dalton (Kaytlyn Roark); her significant other, Mark Griffith; siblings, Janice (Mike) Pence, Clinton (Nikki) Cross, Jimmy (Ashley) Cross, Joanie Woods, Johnny (Kathy) Cross, and Michael Cross; special friend, Missy Orschell and many other close friends and family.  

Friends may gather and remember Cindy on Thursday, March 27 from 4 until 7 p.m., at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Kevin Waltz from Emmanuel Baptist Church will officiate the Celebration of Life at 7 p.m.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Margaret Mary Cancer Center by mailing to 321 Mitchell Ave., Batesville, IN 47006 or online at mmhealth.org/health-foundation/donate-now.  Donations can also be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati at hospiceofcincinnati.org/donate/ or by mailing to P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263-3597.   Donations can also be brought to the funeral service.
