Council budget cuts

After reviewing the budgets presented by the county's department heads on Monday, Aug. 15, Franklin County Council recessed until the following morning to look for cuts to bring the expenditures more in line with expected revenue on Aug. 16 and 17.

Cross country at Monroe Central Invite

Union County was a few runners short at the Monroe Central invite last Saturday but UC coach Phil Cox is optimistic that the teams will grow soon.

The Union County girls golf team finished the Connersville High School Girls Golf Invite with 403 to place fifth out of 11 teams.

Union County and Northeastern opened the football season last week with the Knights posting a 48-9 victory. 

Knightstown falls to Lady Patriots, 3-1
